March Dress

I finally got a new dress pattern to make my dress for March! It's Simplicity 2927. It's another "Project Runway" pattern with several variations. When I was sewing this dress I wasn't sure that it was going to be very flattering because I didn't think it would have much waist definition, but it turned out a lot better than I thought it would! It came together very fast and easy, I almost got the whole thing done in one of Mollie's naps.
Mollie wore the dress I made her for Valentines day again today because I thought it kindof matched my dress...

I get a lot of pictures like this of Mollie, where she is smiling and looking cute but blinks or looks down right as I get the picture. Is she standing on one leg?

She's getting a lot better at walking...

Back to the dress, here are a few details...

I lined both the pockets and the sleeves with this gray fabric..

I like the interesting shape of the sleeves. My mom said they look like tulips, and I think they are actually called "tulip sleeves". You might not have been able to tell in the first picture, but the yoke is actually two pieces that overlap in the front.
