"Tomboy" Shorts for Mollie

So this project was a sewing "first" for me..shorts for Mollie. "Tomboy" shorts because they sort of fit like a pair of boy's shorts would, but the yellow pompom trim adds a little feminine cuteness! :

I used several pairs of shorts she has to make a basic shorts pattern..

Then added a few details like a flat front (the elastic is only in the back of the waistband)..

Pockets with mini yellow pom-pom trim..

And a gathered leg opening...
