Now that the seat and storage compartment pieces are flat, you can pin them to your fabric and cut them out. Since the raw edges are finished with bias tape, you don't need to add a seam allowance.
Here's the new seat piece. The fabric is a home decor weight fabric from Joann's.
Now, you can pin and sew on the bias tape around the seat piece, and to the top of the storage compartment's side pieces. It's a little bit tricky to get the bias tape around the tight curves, but it really helps to iron as you pin.
Next, you can pin the storage compartment's sides onto the main piece, using the original storage compartment as a guide so that you know exactly where to pin them.

Now you can pin and sew the side seams.
