New Things

If you come to my blog often, you probably notice that I have a new blog header! I've always admired the pretty and creative headers on others' blogs but never realized how easy it was to make one. I thought there was some web site design secret to putting a custom header in, but actually Blogger lets you upload anything into the "header" spot. Here's how to do it:
1. When you sign into Blogger and are on your homepage, click "Design".
2. Now you are at the "Add or Arrange Page Elements" page. At the top will be a box labeled "header", click the "Edit" button in that box.
3. A new window will open up with a text box in it to put your blog title. Below that, it will say "Image", and will allow you to upload a picture that's on your computer. Click the "Choose File" button, and choose your picture! It's as easy as that.

You can make your heading as fancy as you want. For mine, I went to the free photo editing website Picnik, and uploaded my picture. In Picnik, I cropped the picture a little bit, used "focal soften" to focus on Mollie's face, and added a text box to put in the name of my blog. Then, I used Picnik's save button to save the edited picture to my computer, and that is the one I uploaded in to my header. That might all sound complicated, but it's not, I think anyone could do it! I'm excited that I finally figured it out, and hope this helps someone who wants a custom header!

  1. Okay, Caitlin, you need to come over and help me with a new header for my blog! Yours is so pretty. I especially like the title in "cross-stitch".
